Based in Inverness, ADLnature have been at the forefront of peatland restoration across Scotland since 2017. Weโve successfully restored 8,000+ hectares of peatland across more than 50 projects, all to Peatland ACTION standards. Our team has extensive experience working in sensitive and complex environments, including designated sites, drinking water catchments, and national parks.
We’re proud to have registered one of the first peatland sites under the IUCN Peatland Code, and since then have registered over 1.3 million carbon credits. We’ve also played a key role in pilot feasibility development with Peatland ACTION and continue to deliver both private and publicly funded feasibility studies across Scotland.
Our work extends beyond restoration. Using tools such as modern drone technology, improved wildlife monitoring, land management techniques, and environmental surveying, weโre bringing practical innovation into everyday operations. Data informed approaches help us understand sites more clearly, make better decisions, and continue toย set new standards across the sector.

Yesterday Jessie and Charlie facilitated a workshop at the UHI Integrated Land Use Conference ๐ฑ
The theme of the conference was the use of technology in the environmental sector. Jessie and Charlie used a hands on mapping task to demonstrate how we use high resolution drone mapping to identify erosion features for our peatland restoration sites ๐ ultimately supporting climate action across the Highlands and Islands ๐๏ธ
We are delighted to have been invited along to the Integrated Land Use Conference by @thinkuhi strengthening our ongoing relationship with our local university and providing practical learning for students ๐

On Tuesday we took a group of S3 Geography pupils from Culloden Academy out to their local peatland! This was possible through our peatland restoration education project in partnership with @rhet_highland and @naturescot Peatland ACTION ๐ฑ๐๐ฅพ it proved to be a great success with lots of enthusiasm. Great to get these young folk out of the classroom and into the bog!

First, a very warm welcome to our two newest team members, Freya and Charlie. Freya joins us as our PeatlandACTION funded intern and Charlie comes on board as an Environmental Consultant. Over the past couple of months the team have been getting Freya and Charlie up to speed, sharing knowledge and experience across the many and varied parts of their roles ๐

Yesterday evening Orla and Kirsty attended the โGirls do Scienceโ event hosted by @mywowscotland ๐งช
This was a brilliant event that gave S4 to S6 girls the chance to connect with professionals who use STEM skills in their work every day, helping them see the wide range of pathways that science can open up. We shared how we use STEM to aid us in surveying habitats, analysing data, developing innovative drone systems and designing restoration projects.
At ADLnature we are passionate about inspiring and informing the next generation about meaningful career opportunities and the ecological restoration work happening right on their doorstep in Inverness and across the Highlands and Islands ๐ฑ
