Wyvis One Estate

The first phase of peatland restoration on the Wyvis One Estate comprises of a large expanse of degraded blanket bog made up of sizeable haggs which are over 1.5 metres in places. These haggs are to be restored by reprofiling and blocking with peat dams.

The site is located on the southside of the most notable mountain in the Inverness area, Ben Wyvis. The Loch Misirich site lies partially within the Ben Wyvis SSSI & SAC, and it is expected that the positive impacts on biodiversity and environment will be beneficial to these areas in addition to the prevention of carbon emissions the restoration provides.
